Artists make all kinds of “tools” to achieve a specific effect or look when they are creating. This piece involved making a couple of these tools, and most of them came out looking like prison shanks.

This one was my favorite tool, and it helped me create the dot work in a number of these pieces.

I was inspired by several things while creating this piece including a painting of flowers by Gustav Klimt, various aboriginal art, and the patterns of a whale shark.
